I had a great time teaching a workshop and working with the girls of "Petite Explosion" Dance Crew in El Segundo, CA. These girls were so free and down to learn breakin, and open to my instruction. We also had a little cipher get down, where they all freestyled!
Lead by a bubbly woman named Shawn, they range from age 9 to 15 and really love to groove, dance and push them selves.
By the end of class I had them doing a breakin routine that made them all sweat, but they were all down to learn to ninja freeze, and battle each other!
Thank you Shawn for putting me in touch with these young girls who have passion and heart and dedication for dance. After Three hours of fun, I left feeling satisfied that hopefully one of those girls will stay outta trouble and focus on dance as creative release and expression to empower the true meaning of a female dedicated to HIP HOP dance!
